A Prelude to Passing Worlds (Working Title)

After the release of my first album in 2017, an indie game developer discovered my music. He told me it would fit perfectly in video games and animated films, and soon, I was invited to work on a few of his projects.

It was during that time that I imagined telling a story of my own, built around a series of interconnected worlds filled with adventure and exploration. I already knew how the story would end: with everything in ruins, but hope still remains, carrying the promise of something new. As for the main protagonist of the main overarching story, I wanted a hero who manages to preserve that promise of hope, carrying it onwards through a world undone.

The first of these worlds was Naryūpha, which was originally called Seasons of Another World, then Tears of Naryūpha, before finally settling on its current name. Naryūpha drew inspiration from classic video games and animated films in the eighties, weaving fantasy, emotion and discovery together to create a world that feels timeless and alive. At first, the world of Naryūpha was too vast, and my ideas were still in the early stages. I decided to focus on one part of that world: The Sealed Islands. Focusing on the islands gave me the chance to explore Naryūpha's lore, history and characters, and helped the story to take shape.

Since the story of the islands was still tied to Naryūpha, I wanted to create something that could stand on its own. This led to Aeruinia, a world that could exist independently while still connected to Naryūpha. I started to see connections between all these worlds, which eventually led to the development of the story of Celestia, currently referred to as The World Before.

As the stories unfolded, each world started to feel different, with its own life and purpose. Celestia became the stars, guiding hope and truth. Aeruinia spanned across the sky, carrying the sun and the promise of renewal. Naryūpha cradled the moon and the seasons, embraced balance and change. The Sealed Islands represented the sea and land, but they came to reflect the power of nature and purification. 

After creating so many worlds, I wanted something lighter and playful. That's how The Tale of The Samurai Cat, Kenjiro came to be. I had always envisioned cats as warriors and noble figures, and in Kenjiro's story, I had the chance to explore this idea. Originally, I wanted to include a cat kingdom within Naryūpha or Aeruinia, but it felt right to give the concept its own story.

These worlds were meant to become games, but the development team and I are focused on other projects at the moment. I try to bring them to life through music, adding pieces of lore and story in the descriptions, so that you can get a glimpse of the worlds and adventures.

Even as these stories continue to evolve with rewrites and new inspirations, their meanings and what they represent remain unchanged. I hope that one day you can experience and cherish these worlds and their stories as they grow, and that you will continue exploring them with me, for their adventures are far from over. I am grateful to be able to share these worlds with you, and may they bring you as much wonder in them as I have felt in creating them.
