Old Biographies


Ngiam was born in Taiwan and is a musician, conductor, and composer. Originally self-taught, his early musical experiences included choir assemblies, violin and harmonica lessons, and a brief study of festive drums, later deciding to pursue the piano in late 2016. These early beginnings and his self-directed explorations laid the foundation for a versatile multidisciplinary creative career, encompassing game music, film scores, contemporary composition, performance, and other creative projects.

Since releasing his first composition and album in 2017, Ngiam has collaborated with indie game developers and creators across multiple disciplines. His work spans original compositions, soundtracks for games and films, and arrangements performed at a variety of events. He actively participates in monthly game jams, creating music under tight deadlines, one of which earned first place in 2023 with the project The Laundry List.

Beyond music, Ngiam occasionally extends his storytelling to game design, filmmaking, and visual art, bringing his perspective to new mediums. His works are often narrative-driven and sometimes incorporate minimalism and surreal abstraction, while conveying emotion and meaning. He co-directs and assists in production on select projects, integrating design, collaboration, and musical vision to shape his projects.

Through his diverse creative work, Ngiam seeks to create moments that linger with audiences, leaving behind emotional depth and a sense of lasting memory.

In his spare time, he enjoys studying etymology and spends time with flowers, tending to them once in a while, which inspire the textures and stories in his works.

Briefly exposed to the musical arts through choir assemblies, festive drums, and violin lessons, he decided to pick up the piano in late 2016. 

After releasing his first piece (and album) in 2017, he caught the attention of indie game developers and other musicians. This led to him composing for several small projects and contributing to music albums. Additionally, he participates in monthly game jams, providing sounds and music for submissions under tight time frames (one of which secured first place). One of the aforementioned projects, "The Laundry List", came in first place in a 2024 Game Jam.

He has written a number of pieces and composes soundtracks for games and films, along with collaborating with other talented artists. He has performed at numerous events, entering the occasional competition.

Beyond music, he writes and designs for games and co-directs them once in a while. As for his artworks, he prefers a minimalistic art style, with a touch of surrealism and abstraction.

He strives for his music, art, and stories to touch the hearts of his audience, leaving a lasting and memorable impact through his diverse assortment of creative works.
