Ngiam Teo

Ngiam is a self-taught musician and composer.

Briefly exposed to the musical arts through choir assemblies, festive drums, and violin lessons, he decided to pick up the piano in late 2016.

After releasing his first piece (and album) in 2017, he caught the attention of indie game developers and other musicians. This led to him composing for several small projects and contributing to music albums. Additionally, he participates in monthly game jams, providing sounds and music for submissions under tight time frames (one of which secured first place). One of the aforementioned projects, "The Laundry List", came in first place in a 2024 Game Jam.

He has written a number of pieces and composes soundtracks for games and films, along with collaborating with other talented artists. He has performed at numerous events, entering the occasional competition.

Beyond music, he writes and designs for games and co-directs them once in a while. As for his artworks, he prefers a minimalistic art style, with a touch of surrealism and abstraction.

He strives for his music, art, and stories to touch the hearts of his audience, leaving a lasting and memorable impact through his diverse assortment of creative works.

Ngiam’s Comment

“Growing up, music always felt like a bridge between worlds. I was moved by how soundtracks could give life to stories, how a single melody could hold memory, emotion, and atmosphere all at once. That feeling is what inspires me, and it’s what keeps me creating today.

Storytelling is at the heart of my work. Even when I’m just writing music, I think of it as part of a greater whole: a scene, a memory, or even a fragment of a story. Creative projects such as games and WORLDS (working title) let me explore that side more directly, bringing music together with narratives and imagination.

What I hope, above all, is that my music and stories stay with people. That they spark a memory, stir an emotion, or even make someone feel as though they’ve stepped into another world, if only for a moment. I want my works to leave a strong and lasting impression that people remember and return to.

I hope to continue creating meaningful and memorable works that touch hearts and leave behind something unforgettable.”
