The Sealed Islands

…However, peace and balance did not last. As humans grew dominant, they tried to claim the divine powers for themselves. A great war broke out, and the spirits vanished from the world. Humans acquired the ability to use magic and manipulate the elements of the world, and their desire for more power and darkness grew ever stronger.
As the world slowly turned into chaos, a divine flood swept over the land, ridding it from corruption. The Embodiment of Rebirth, the Goddess of the Islands, took pity on the humans, and formed the archipelago by stealing the moonlight, shaping it, and colouring them with the light of the sun. The Goddess, unwilling to let humans repeat the same mistake, chose to give up her divinity to be reborn as a mortal, to guide the humans onto a better path.
